BNI describes itself as the world's largest referral networking organization. It was founded in 1985 by Dr. Ivan Misner. Each chapter seats just one person from each profession, and chapters review and select candidates.
Chapters meet weekly. Hybrid chapters meet in person in the first week of the month and online the other weeks. To join, you find a chapter, visit as a guest, meet members, and apply to that chapter. As of 31 December 2025 the site reports 78 countries, 11,800+ chapters and 355,000+ members.
