The IFA says it has worked for the franchise industry since 1960. It offers three membership types: franchisors, franchisees and suppliers. Programs include VetFran for veterans, Women in Franchising, a Diversity Institute, scholarships, the FranShip mentorship program, and the IFA Academy with the Certified Franchise Executive credential. It also lobbies on franchise policy, has a political action committee, and holds an Annual Convention.
